Happy Holidays

Readers,

I wanted to take a brief moment, to pause from the hustle and bustle of bread baking, regular life activities, cooking and cleaning to wish everyone a happy holiday season.

And instead of telling you how grateful I am for the gifts that I have received in my lifetime, not those that come wrapped, but rather those that unwrap me. My parents, who have always been supportive of me. My sister, who is quite possibly the most wonderful human being I have ever met, her spirit is strong, true and joyful. My friends who teach me to be me and who accept me for who I am and of course, for eating my bread without a second thought. Kelly my partner in crime, who has taught me to be a better person, a kinder and more loving person. To my readers and fans, who never hesitate to read more about my baking exploits, my success and my failures. I would like to leave you with one quote from one of my life mentors, the Dalai Lama.

This photo was taken in Columbus, Ohio, at a graduation potluck hosted by my best friend Caryn Roth.
From Left: my sister Gabrielle, my mother Judy, my father Steve, and myself
May I become at all times, both now and forever
A protector for those without protection
A guide for those have lost their way
A ship for those with oceans to cross
A bridge for those with rivers to cross
A sanctuary for those in danger
A lamp for those without light
A place of refuge for those who lack shelter
And a servant to all in need.
Peace and Love
 -DW, The Bread Baron
